CT Water Notice:
Thank you for being a valued Connecticut Water customer.
We would like to let you know that on Wednesday, November 6th, we’ll be completing an upgrade to the water system that supplies water to your home.
Among the upgrade is the addition of chlorine to the treatment process. Chlorine is a naturally existing element that is routinely used to disinfect drinking water supplies to prevent waterborne diseases. We are adding chlorine to optimize our treatment process and ensure disinfection as water travels from the treatment facility to your home. Once we make this change, you may notice a difference in taste or smell of your drinking water. Please know that although you may notice a difference, your water continues to meet or be better than all state and federal drinking water standards.
The taste and smell of chlorine in drinking water varies greatly from person to person. If you notice this change in your water and wish to remove the taste/odor, simply fill a glass pitcher or other container with water and place it in your refrigerator for a short time. The chlorine taste and smell will naturally dissipate.
Connecticut Water has an extensive water quality protection program that includes land ownership, watershed inspections, and source water quality monitoring. In addition, we conduct more than 170,000 water quality tests each year–that’s an average of 400 tests daily. We are committed to providing you with high quality, reliable water.
If you have any questions, please call us at 1-800-286-5700.
We look forward to continuing to serve you.
